Having a 5d mark I, 50mm 1.2 lens and pocket wizards like Jasmine Star does wont necessarily give u the same results as hers. Odds are that they will turn out nothing like it.
Photography isn't about equipment but about seeing:
The light
The subject/model
Before you push the trigger you should know where the light falls and how to deal with it.
This picture is a perfect example. Taken with a beginners DSLR (400D) with the kit lens. No other equipment.
The shot is difficult because the sun is high and straight behind the model. That means you have to light up the model to compensate for the back light... If not the model is dark and the sky is blue or the model is ok but the sky is white and washed out.
Which means you need to use a strong big source of light to get both areas bright.
I didn't have anything but the small on camera flash. The on camera flash is nowhere near strong enough to light her up.
Intuitively I saw the light and placed the model where the sunlight was at the right angle and then reflected back onto the model. Behind me was two big glass doors and they worked perfectly as reflectors.
So work with what you have. See the light and the opportunities you have with your equipment - n nail the shot.
Rest will come later !
