Benefits of working from home

So today I am working from home because I need to edit some photos to prepare them for my employers website.

There are many benefits of working from home:

  1. You can work in your pyjamas
  2. You have unlimited access to all the food and snacks in your fridge/cupboard ** this could also be a non benefit as the effects will likely make you fast
  3. You save time going through and from work
  4. You can do laundry whilst waiting for pictures to export or save
  5. You get to hang out with your dog
  6. You can watch TV on your lunch break
  7. Did I mention snacks??  :)
As I suspect you were wondering about the images,

well here are some examples !!

Fast five- the movie

There is hardly ever anything new nd surprising about movies such as Fast Five... They are all the same: Hot preferably buff muscular hot guy ( Dwayne Johnston aka the Eock - yum- Vin diesel- ok not so hot but def likable, and blue eyed Paul walker, n a couple of hotties in between!) Hot chicks showing some ass, with great great bodies Hot, buff tough chick Couple of funny dudes Some wicked scenery Amazing cars Lots of mashin n shooting of bad guys... This all equals the perfect switch off from a hard day at work, n motivation to hit the gym. Seriously though, how does a man get guns like the rock? They are massive massive massive Arms!

Two trips are for pansies

This is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo me that its ridiculous !

This was me plus worse when I was coming home from Frankfurt the other night!

OMG I was so crazy and cranky and overloaded that the guy I think was thinking of robbing me changed his mind cause he didn't want it!!!

or maybe he saw the anger in my face...

Why couldnt I be like Carrie Bradshaw and just jump into a taxi???

Gjerrigknarkens julekalender

Adding canvas to create more

Although I am not a very theoretical photographer there are some rules that I follow without even knowing it. One of those rules is the rule of thirds.

The rule of thirds in photography is a composition rule which basically says don't put the subject in the middle and look for those lines in your photo to find the intersection of lines or the crash point. The most interesting part of your picture should ideally be at one of these intersections.

Here I felt that should be her Linn C's eye that is furthest to the left.

But the problem was that I didn't have enough canvas for that, so in order to create a more dynamic picture (which is usually what happens when you use the rule of thirds) I added more canvas.

This is done in like 10 seconds in photoshop.

Its monday!

Bryllupsblogg

Favorittbloggen min er uten tvil bloggen Style Me Pretty.

Christmas wish list...

So its that wonderful time of the year again when we hang up all sorts of decorations and then buy each other heaps of gifts.

My mom has given the hubby and I a deadline until Monday to come up with a list.

My sister in law up North in Norway is so organized she has already created a mood board of her wishes. Goooosh...

As usual I am so far behind. Not like there isnt things I need but its just so hard to think of those things under pressure...

Usually I work well under pressure but this is for some reason so difficult. Perhaps its because I am a practical girl who kinda don't own much I dont use. Further, how exciting is it to get those practical things that you need - like a new dustpan and brush??

But yes there are a few luxury items I would like... Like ridiculously expesive things for the house... But most of those things are too expensive to be gifts. Like a kitchen aid food processor... They are so cute. Don't know if they work, or are the best to do what they do, but they are sooo cute!!

Anyways, back on the topic of xmas lists- I also need to figure out what to buy for the Vold clan!

Aghhh its not easy :) But still, like a kid, I cant wait for Xmas ! ! !

A storm is blowing outside

The wind is howling, the rain is pouring down and its cold. Although the calendar says its almost December its not really winter weather.

No, this is more like fall or autumn weather.

After living in the tropics for almost 10 years it is kinda nice to see the seasons changing again. The blooming of the trees and then the graceful fall of the leaves.

Nature is so amazing. It could have just got rid of them right away but in stead it offers us a plethora of colours and beauty.

Being a lover of everything beautiful I had to take advantage of this when I was in Mainz last week photographing Marlena.

Leaves are so much fun. And its even more fun to act like a child once in a while !!!

It's not the loudest that gets heard

As the year come to an end I typically start thinking about the year that has passed and the people in it. Today my thoughts went to Teurai Chanakira. We met whilst both in Law school in Cairns, Australia, and although we both liked law we also had a passion for the creative. If you meet Teurai you will most likely find a quiet, shy and polite beauty. But you are mistaken if you interpret this as a weakness. She is a very intelligent, hardworking and determined woman. She follows her dreams. This Zimbabwean is beautiful inside and out.She had a dream of doing modeling and fashion - I was probably one of the first to photograph her. Here is a pic from that first shoot. Totally unphotoshopped... She was a pleasure to photograph and with each shoot she got betterIn the last year she experienced a personal tragedy of loosing her mother. But her grief has been turned into something positive by the establishment of the Elizabeth Chanakira cancer trust.Further T published a book this year- with my pic on the cover- yeah I'm proud, that's currently on my wish list for Christmas... Eh hmm if u take the hint .. It can be bought on amazon... :).

Fall shoot in Germany

Whilst visiting Mainz Germany I had the pleasure to photograph Marlen -

I have plenty of pretty pictures but this one just says it all about the river dividing Mainz with Wisebaden.

It was her first shoot and this was taken in a very public place where heaps of Sunday strollers looked curiously at what we were doing.

In Norwegian we call a line of trees like this an Alle (supposed to be a little thingi on top of the e but I can't find it on my keyboard)

I have no idea what these funky trees are but they were so cool!

Dangers of one focus point

And of editing photos when you are tired. Sorry about the typo on the picture...
But it doesnt matter,  you know its my photos!
I just wanted to show you these two photos.  Often when I photograph people I use one focus point. And if your F is at 2.8 or below you have a pretty small area that will be clear. The focus should be on the eyes. Or at least one of the eyes.

Here you can see the difference between when the back eye is in focus compared to the "front" or closest to the camera. The last one is so much "crisper".

Always working

So when in Germany, Theresia Pauls and I went to see this lovely man Peter that was interested in a new website - and of course photographs to go with it. Currently Gase Center Friedrichs' website is pretty, well as Peter himself put it: BLUE. But Theresia and I have some great ideas and I am sure the website and the photos will turn out absolutely amazing!

Here is a couple of shots of Theresia  - whilst I test light for staff photos!

Mainz Cathedral (in German Mainzer Dom, Martinsdom or - officially - Der Hohe Dom zu Mainz)

According to Wikipedia the Mainzer Dom is built in Romanesque style - it has certain Gothic features that provides for a unique combination that gives you a sense of mystery when you walk in.

We were there a late afternoon after one of the typical long lunches me and my friend Theresia Pauls seem to always enjoy. Including wine, - of course.

There were many oddities and many beautiful pieces.

I am sorry about the image quality, I didnt use a flash nor a tripod and as I said it was late afternoon and the natural light was pretty weak.

I pumped up the iso so there is a bit of noise.

Brunost - Norwegian Brown Cheese ! YUM YUM

Theresia likes brown cheese! IT was a must for me to bring it. I really didnt know there was all these types>>>

Never even heard of Bestemorsost - or Grandmothers cheese if you dont speek Norwegian.

The best one is definitly the Gudbrandsdalsost from Tine

But if I had known there was Christmas Brun Ost I probably would have brought that too!

Mystisk fredagskatt!!

Men ingen andre dager!!

Hmm derfor spør jeg: hvorfor fredag?!?

Love the curves

I love a fit body and not a big fan of flab but gosh I love the womanly figure. Its so refreshing to see such beauties such as Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Kim Karashian  (who I'm ashamed to say I dont really know who she is or what she does other than to be on the cover of gossip magazines) flaunting their stuff.

I find this article about Kim Karashians fashion tip inspiring :

 1. Accent your waist!
Amen ! I try to do this as much as possible - it is my slimmest point and it makes me seem more womanly !

2. Invest in shaping underwear
Ok - I couldnt deal with that rigth now. Those kinds of underwear, even shaping pantihoses always make me feel gross - it makes me feel sick when my stomach is pushed in for that long ! YUK! But anyhow - good on those of you that can stand it!

3. Use a Tailor
Totally improtant when you are a little bit off the norm. I wish there were more of them in Norway and that they were cheaper. But its so true. Clothes that fit is a must when it comes to looking good!!!

4. Dont use oversized clothes - tight is better
Duh- of course, if your ass is big and you wear something loose - that is loose everywhere then you look as wide as your ass is. Of course if you throw on a belt to show off your mini waist - problem solved- but as you can see on the pic below --- mmmhmmm yummmy tight is better!

Postcard von Deutschland!!!

A little personal postcard blogging from Germany!!!

Drinking beer, sipping wine, listening to church bells chiming, photographing beautiful women, art exhibitions, leaf throwing, laughing, talking, reading scholarly articles in a bar n cuddling random German puppies!!

Hope all is well out there!!!
